It saves lives:
Description
First aid is probably the most underrated life skill there is.
In the US, the average time it takes for an ambulance to arrive is about 8 minutes. The average time it takes for a person, from the moment he experienced a cardiac arrest, until the moment he starts to receive permanent brain damage, is about 4-6.
But in India an ambulance to arrive is approximate 18 to 30 minutes
By doing this math, we can safely assume that in the average case, a person is basically guaranteed to not survive.
Is it a surprise then that only around 10% of people who received a cardiac arrest and didn’t receive CPR get lucky?
CPR can more than triple the chances our patients have to survive. And it is probably worth learning if we look at how common it is.
While most people are glued to the TV worried about wars and terrorist attacks, cardiovascular diseases are currently killing around half a million Americans each year, and they are considered the number one cause of death in the world. Almost twice as much as cancer, and around 600 times more than those terrorist attacks we keep being so worried about. In India, we do not have a national registry for sudden death
And the worst part about all of this? 80% of cardiac arrests happen within our homes, which means that other people are unlikely to assist us in such a time sensitive situation.
Knowing CPR can literally be the thing that saves our loved ones in an emergency like this. And this course isn’t just about CPR.
Corporate: First aid training provides your staff with the confidence and capability to react immediately to an incident, injury or illness. In the event of a medical emergency, when properly trained, a fellow employee can administer basic medical treatment or CPR (as needed) Most large organizations offer health and safety training for their employees.
However, first aid and CPR are frequently overlooked. First aid and CPR training are critical for all employees and apply to every industry regardless of size. Whether the workplace is located on a construction site, in a factory or in a traditional office, every organization has employees who will benefit from first aid training. It is not a matter of “if”, but “when” the situation will occur. First aid training for your employees is essential for workplace safety.
Benefits of First Aid Training for Employees
It saves lives: First aid training provides your staff with the confidence and capability to react immediately to an incident, injury or illness. In the event of a medical emergency, when properly trained, a fellow employee can administer basic medical treatment or CPR (as needed). It’s been proven that CPR aid provided during critical and life-threatening accidents, injuries or health complications in the workplace saves lives.
- First aid kits will have what is needed: Not only does first aid training teach your
employees how to respond to a medical emergency, but it also teaches them exactly what should be in the first aid kit.
- Safety while working alone: First aid training teaches employees how to properly use first aid kits, how to administer life-saving medical treatments and to stay calm and confident during an emergency. While these skills are important for providing first aid to others, they also come in handy for employees working alone. First aid training can help an employee by time until first responders arrive.
